Nursing Assistant – Ward 10

About the role

Join the dedicated nursing team on Ward 10 at Manchester University Hospitals. As a Nursing Assistant you will provide compassionate, hands‑on care to patients, supporting their daily living activities and contributing to a high‑quality, patient‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care tasks such as mobilising, toileting, bathing, dressing, and eating/drinking.
• Record patient observations and report any changes in condition to the supervising Registered Nurse.
• Deliver delegated clinical duties in line with Trust guidelines and protocols.
• Work flexibly across day and night shifts, seven days a week, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in on‑the‑job training and competency assessments.

Required profile

• Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients and their families.
• Ability to communicate sensitively with patients, relatives, and team members.
• Willingness to work varied shift patterns and adapt to a fast‑paced hospital setting.
• Commitment to follow Trust policies and uphold patient safety standards.

Required skills

• Basic clinical observation recording.
• Fundamental personal care techniques.
