Nurture Teacher – SEND Secondary School (Redhill)

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Nurture Teacher to work with 11‑16 year‑old pupils who have autism spectrum conditions, social‑emotional needs and complex SEND profiles. You will deliver a personalised curriculum within a supportive, multi‑disciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the national curriculum while addressing individual learning needs.
• Set personalised learning targets, monitor progress and produce assessments for parents and external agencies.
• Contribute to EHCP, PEP and LAC reviews and maintain statutory documentation.
• Collaborate with therapists, specialist staff and support assistants to ensure cohesive provision.
• Manage challenging behaviour using trauma‑informed, non‑confrontational strategies.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of autism, SEND legislation and best practice.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the right to work in the UK.
• Experience teaching pupils with ASC, SEMH or other complex SEND needs.
• Ability to design and adapt curriculum for diverse learners.
• Strong planning, assessment and communication skills.
