Nutrition Compliance Manager (9‑12 month maternity cover)

About the role

This high‑impact, strategic position leads the nutrition compliance agenda for NHS Supply Chain: Food. You will shape how nutritional standards are implemented and monitored across NHS Trusts, ensuring Hospital Food Standards are met while driving innovation and better health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the nutrition and compliance strategy roadmap (short, medium, long term).
• Drive compliance with Hospital Food Standards, public health targets and government food regulations.
• Create performance frameworks, supplier scorecards and compliance tracking tools.
• Partner with category teams to influence supplier nutritional policies and identify improvement opportunities.
• Engage NHS Trust stakeholders to audit, monitor and enhance compliance performance.
• Support tender processes and specifications to meet nutritional and regulatory standards.
• Champion plant‑forward eating and wellbeing‑focused food initiatives.
• Provide internal dietetic training and expert guidance to procurement, culinary and account teams.
• Represent the organisation at industry forums, networking events and external engagements.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified in Nutrition or Dietetics.
• Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist (HCPC or UKVRN).
• Strong experience in nutrition, dietetics or compliance‑focused roles.
• Excellent stakeholder management with ability to influence at all levels.
• Proven ability to work across multiple teams and manage competing priorities.
