Occupational Health Screening Nurse (RGN)

About the role

Wiltshire Police are seeking a Registered General Nurse to join their Occupational Health Unit. As an Occupational Health Screening Nurse you will help promote physical and mental well‑being for police staff, ensuring they are fit to perform their duties safely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide occupational health services in line with current policy and practice.
• Manage a personal caseload, conducting initial assessments after work‑related accidents, ill health or sickness absence.
• Review and triage management referrals, determining appropriate pathways and fitness‑to‑work decisions.
• Prioritise cases based on urgency, complexity and potential workplace impact.
• Carry out clinical duties autonomously, including assessment of high‑risk groups and provision of health advice.
• Deliver evidence‑based interventions for physical and psychological wellbeing.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a passion for employee well‑being.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
• Commitment to a full‑time permanent role, Monday‑Friday (8.30‑16:30 or 9‑17).
