Occupational Therapist – Band 6/7 (Full‑time/Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative Occupational Therapist to join our specialist secondary school in Vauxhall, London, supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. The role can be full‑time or part‑time and is offered at NHS Band 6 or Band 7 depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments using appropriate clinical reasoning and outcome measures.
• Develop and deliver individualized interventions targeting emotional regulation, sensory processing, attention, motor coordination and daily living skills.
• Provide consultation, advice and training to teachers, teaching assistants and pastoral staff.
• Collaborate with families to ensure consistency between school and home environments.
• Design sensory and environmental strategies to support regulation and participation.
• Contribute to individual education and support plans and monitor outcomes.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and participate in multidisciplinary meetings and safeguarding processes.

Required profile

• HCPC registration and appropriate occupational therapy qualification.
• Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
• Passion for supporting mental health, wellbeing and participation of young people.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and build trusting relationships.
• Creative, flexible and solution‑focused approach with confidence in providing advice and training.
• Effective caseload management and prioritisation skills.
