Occupational Therapist – SEND Setting (Band 6/7)

About the role
We are partnering with a SEND school network that operates across six sites in London and Essex. The role involves providing occupational therapy support to primary and secondary students who experience social‑emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, including ASD and difficult behaviours.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and deliver tailored occupational therapy interventions for children with SEMH needs.
- Support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and those with Education, Health and Care Plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, multidisciplinary teams and families to promote functional participation in lessons.
- Manage and de‑escalate challenging behaviours within the classroom setting.
- Travel between the six school sites in London and Essex as required.
Required profile
- Qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with HCPC.
- Experience working with children in a SEND or similar educational environment.
- Ability to address SEMH issues and support students with ASD.
- Willingness to work at Band 6 or Band 7 level, with salary dependent on experience.
- Based in or able to commute to London or Essex.
