Occupational Therapy Assistant

About the role

South Thames Colleges Group is looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support learners with learning and communication differences such as ADHD, ASD, dyspraxia and complex needs. Working mainly at Morden, Merton and Kingston Colleges, you will help translate Occupational Therapist recommendations into daily practice and contribute to holistic support plans.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group OT‑based activities that promote functional learning and communication.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, families and carers to integrate therapy recommendations into each learner’s day.
• Monitor and record the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
• Prepare contributions for Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews.
• Assist in the development and review of service systems and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Recent experience working with young adults who have learning, communication or complex needs.
• Ability to produce clear assessment reports and feedback for a wide audience.
• Strong organisational skills and the capacity to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
• Effective communication at all levels.

Required skills

• Computer skills for record‑keeping and reporting.
