Office and Accounts Administrator

About the role

This position supports the financial management of vessel operations and office accounts for an international shipping company. You will handle supplier invoices, creditor accounts, and payment runs while ensuring accurate accounting records.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and manage creditor accounts.
• Prepare and execute payment runs, including online supplier payments.
• Reconcile bank and vessel accounts and support month‑end closing.
• Maintain accounting records in the Danaos system.
• Monitor cash‑flow requirements and assist with foreign‑exchange transactions.
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoice queries.
• Support owners' payments and brokers' commission processing.
• Handle office accounting using Sage and maintain Excel‑based voyage files (hire statements, freight receipts, commission records).
• Monitor office email inbox, including occasional weekend checks, and provide occasional reception cover.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced shipping environment.
• Willingness to monitor emails regularly and work occasional weekends.
• Good communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
