On-Site Electrician – Prison Facilities

About the role

We are looking for a permanent On‑Site Electrician to join Amey’s facilities‑management team at HMP Lowdham Grange. Working 39 hours a week, you will help keep the prison’s electrical systems safe, compliant and operational.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and preventative electrical maintenance and associated administrative tasks.
• Diagnose faults, perform repairs and replace components on electrical systems throughout the prison.
• Conduct electrical inspections and tests in line with BS 7671, recording results accurately.
• Assist the Responsible Person and Authorised Person with health‑and‑safety documentation, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Support escort duties and any additional tasks required to maintain a secure environment.

Required profile

• City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
• BS 7671 18th Edition (or 17th Edition with up‑skilling to 18th).
• Good knowledge of health‑and‑safety regulations and planned maintenance procedures.
• Ability to work at heights, independently and under pressure to tight deadlines.
• Basic IT competence and a willingness to obtain Prison Security Clearance.
