Oncology Staff Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Oncology Staff Nurse for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract on the Oncology Day Unit at Hexham General Hospital. The role involves delivering high‑quality, holistic nursing care to a diverse range of cancer patients receiving day‑treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide evidence‑based, nurse‑led care to cancer patients and their carers.
• Safely administer a wide range of cytotoxic chemotherapy and supportive care medications.
• Support the existing multidisciplinary team in delivering safe, compassionate care.
• Model inclusive leadership, coaching colleagues and promoting quality improvement.
• Collaborate with senior staff and the unit manager to maintain high standards of patient experience.
