Operating Department Practitioner – Anaesthetics & Recovery

About the role

Join Ramsay Health Care UK as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) specialising in anaesthetics and recovery at Buckshaw Hospital, Chorley. You will work within a state‑of‑the‑art theatre environment, supporting safe patient care and contributing to high‑quality clinical outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the anaesthetic team throughout surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Manage the recovery area, monitoring patients post‑operatively and providing appropriate care.
• Operate and maintain theatre equipment, including laminar airflow systems and integrated technology.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, adhering to clinical protocols and infection‑control standards.
• Document patient observations and contribute to handover processes.

Required profile

• HCPC registration with no restrictions or conditions.
• Proven experience in anaesthetic and recovery settings.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible, positive attitude and empathetic character.

Required skills

• Operation of anaesthetic equipment and recovery monitoring devices.
