Operational Trainer – Healthcare

About the role

We are looking for an Operational Trainer to deliver induction and development training across four Barchester Healthcare homes in the Lower Earley region, including Wokingham, Reading and Bracknell. The role is home‑based and involves travelling to sites to ensure staff are confident, competent and able to provide person‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver induction and ongoing development training in line with Barchester objectives.
• Provide practical, hands‑on training across a variety of care‑related subjects.
• Plan and publish training calendars and keep employee training records up to date.
• Arrange induction paperwork, allocate a buddy and maintain regular contact with new team members.
• Observe workplace practice, coach staff and attend external meetings or conferences as required.
• Promote learning and development opportunities and work with Home Managers to implement personal development plans.

Required profile

• C&G 7300 (or equivalent) Diploma level 3 in Health & Social Care, or relevant experience in the social‑care sector.
• Working knowledge of legislative requirements in the care sector.
• Minimum two years’ experience delivering training.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the region.

• Strong organisational skills for managing calendars and records.
• Effective communication and coaching abilities.
