Operations Assistant – Freight Forwarding

About the role

Freightserve, a specialist freight forwarder, is seeking an Operations Assistant to support both office and warehouse activities. The role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday 9 am‑5 pm, with occasional flexibility required to meet the fast‑moving demands of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange import and export shipments and complete all related paperwork.
• Respond to customer emails and handle queries.
• Communicate with overseas offices and airline partners to book shipments.
• Perform administration duties such as pre‑alerts, supplier liaison and documentation.
• Assist in the warehouse with packing, labelling, unloading vehicles and maintaining a clean environment.
• Support management in coordinating daily operations.

Required profile

• Previous experience in freight, courier or logistics.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to a fast‑growing environment.

Required skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of import/export documentation.
• Ability to use standard office software.
