Operations Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Coordinator to join a fast‑growing international food manufacturing and supply‑chain business. Based in Newcastle with occasional travel to our York site, you will help keep daily operations running smoothly and support multiple departments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of orders, shipments and logistics activities.
• Monitor shipment schedules, flag delays and communicate operational changes.
• Provide timely updates to senior management and internal teams.
• Coordinate with suppliers, logistics partners, customers and internal departments.
• Prepare and maintain documentation, reports and business records.
• Chase outstanding actions to ensure deadlines are met.
• Offer administrative support across various business functions.
• Assist with operational projects as the company expands.

Required profile

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
• Proactive and capable of working independently.
• Confident communicator with colleagues, suppliers and external partners.
• Team‑player willing to support wherever needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience with EDI platforms or customer portals (desirable).

What we offer

• Salary range £28,000 – £34,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Full‑time, onsite role based in Newcastle with initial paid travel to York.
