Operations Director – HVAC

About the role

The Operations Director will lead and develop all operational activities across the UK business, ensuring safe, efficient and profitable delivery of HVAC projects and services. Reporting to the Managing Director and COO, this senior leader will drive operational excellence and support continued growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across all operational functions, ensuring projects, service contracts and maintenance activities are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
• Build, lead and develop high‑performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Drive operational efficiency and service quality through process optimisation, performance management and KPI monitoring.
• Oversee workforce planning, resource allocation, supply chain performance and subcontractor management.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements and maintain appropriate business insurance.
• Manage operational performance against budgets, monitor contract profitability and identify cost‑control opportunities.
• Lead operational aspects of contract negotiations and support forecasting, budgeting and business planning.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align operational delivery with wider business objectives and develop governance frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior operations leadership, preferably within HVAC, construction or facilities services.
• Track record of delivering large‑scale projects and service contracts safely, on schedule and within budget.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to manage budgets, profitability and cost optimisation.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to work closely with CEOs, COOs and external partners.
• Commitment to health, safety and regulatory compliance.
