Operations Finance Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Finance Business Partner to join the Central Finance team of a well‑established professional services organisation in Liverpool. Working closely with the Programme Director and senior operations managers, you will act as the primary finance contact for multiple programmes, delivering commercial insight to support performance and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Programme Directors, Senior Operations Managers and wider business teams to provide commercial finance support and drive performance improvements.
• Produce detailed financial models to support operational planning, resource forecasting and revenue growth.
• Review management accounts, investigate variances and provide meaningful financial analysis to support decision‑making.
• Develop and maintain rolling forecasts, ensuring financial information is accurate and up to date.
• Build user‑friendly Excel models and reporting tools that improve financial visibility for operational teams.
• Conduct regular P&L and contract performance reviews, using financial and KPI data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Deliver detailed cost‑centre reporting, explain variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Support implementation of new contracts by developing financial reporting tools and embedding robust processes.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly forecasts, annual budgets and long‑term financial plans across multiple cost centres.
• Produce ad‑hoc commercial analysis and contribute to continuous improvements through new systems and technology.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Previous experience in a Finance Business Partner or commercially focused finance role.
• Strong financial modelling skills with advanced Excel experience.
