Operations Manager – Fleet & Workshop

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Operations Manager to lead our Workshop, Service and Tyre departments at our Hemel Hempstead headquarters. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will drive day‑to‑day performance while preparing to take on broader strategic responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Operations Director to align departmental goals and gradually assume additional operational duties.
• Oversee Workshop, Service and Tyre teams, managing day and night shifts, compliance, and a nationwide subcontractor network.
• Prepare and present regular KPI and performance reports to senior management.
• Control departmental budgets, identify recoverable costs and ensure efficient cost recovery.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives across all operational areas.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operations or general management, preferably within fleet, plant or asset management.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑department teams and develop staff.
• Financial acumen for budgeting and cost recovery.
• Organisational talent and a hands‑on approach in a fast‑paced environment.
