Operations Manager – FMCG Packing

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Manager to lead the packing operations at our New Milton site, supporting a market‑leading FMCG production business. The successful candidate will ensure orders are fulfilled accurately, on time and in full while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Generate, manage and deliver daily and weekly packing and dispatch plans aligned with customer orders and KPIs.
• Lead labour planning and forecasting for packing teams.
• Track order progress and adjust plans to achieve OTIF targets.
• Coach, train and manage packing team performance, including absence and performance management.
• Implement Lean and 5S initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy and reduce waste.
• Coordinate with production, planning and logistics to ensure aligned order fulfilment.
• Support the rollout of new tools, systems and packing processes.

Required profile

• Experience in operations, fulfilment, logistics, supply chain or production within FMCG, food, manufacturing or distribution.
• Strong understanding of labour planning, order fulfilment and cost control.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams.
• Excellent organisational, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Continuous improvement mindset, with Lean/5S experience beneficial.
