Operations Manager – Maternity Cover (9‑12 months)

About the role

We are looking for an Operations Manager to lead the operational delivery of project builds on a maternity‑cover basis (9‑12 months). You will ensure projects are completed on time, within scope and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project and Site Managers during planning to define operational requirements.
• Lead weekly internal operations meetings, capture needs and resolve issues before project start.
• Maintain the Team Track system with current, future and pipeline projects, adjusting for unplanned resourcing.
• Book internal and freelance crew, prepare detailed crew packs and negotiate rates with UK and global partner agencies.
• Approve freelance and agency invoices in partnership with Finance and Project Management.
• Communicate regularly with crew to answer project‑specific queries and support ad‑hoc requests.
• Manage UK and international site transport logistics, negotiating haulage contracts to ensure timely collections and deliveries.
• Secure plant, accommodation and flight bookings, obtaining best value and fostering long‑term supplier relationships.
• Assist Project Managers with administrative tasks such as crew licences and accreditation.

Required profile

• Proven operations experience in a similar industry.
• Knowledge of plant machinery and its on‑site application.
• Excellent multitasking, communication and organisational skills.
• High proficiency with IT tools, especially Excel, Word and Google Drive.
• Detail‑oriented, highly organised and able to work both in the office and on‑site.
