Operations Manager – Retail Store

About the role

As an Operations Manager at ASDA in Yeovil you will be responsible for delivering excellent store execution and embedding consistent routines that drive product availability, minimise waste and shrink, and uphold high standards across all departments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the store’s day‑to‑day operations, ensuring availability, waste and shrink targets are met.
• Review and optimise store processes to improve key performance metrics.
• Coach and develop managers and frontline teams across Ambient, Fresh, George and General Merchandising areas.
• Maintain contract base management and wage control while driving commercial performance.
• Implement and monitor POS best‑practice to deliver clear value messages to customers.
• Foster a culture of empathy, transparency and ownership on the shop floor.
• Drive healthy competition and the store’s selling agenda through clear communication of the “why”.
• Ensure health, safety and compliance standards are consistently applied.
