Operations Planner

About the role

The Operations Planner will play a vital part in ensuring smooth day‑to‑day planning of operational activities. Working in a fast‑paced environment, you will coordinate resources, support labour requirements and respond quickly to changing operational demands.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily operational activities to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Schedule and allocate operational resources to meet business requirements.
• Coordinate labour requirements and support operational teams.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Respond quickly to operational changes and resolve planning issues.
• Monitor workloads and ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Maintain accurate operational records and planning information.
• Support continuous improvements to operational planning processes.

Required profile

• Previous experience within an operations, logistics or planning environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
• High attention to detail and a conscientious work ethic.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of operational priorities.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Flexibility to work as part of a weekend rota.

What we offer

• Competitive salary up to £37,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Full‑time role on a rotating 3‑week shift pattern (Monday‑Friday for two weeks, Wednesday‑Sunday for one week).
• Location in Portsmouth, South East England.
