Operations & Project Delivery Manager

About the role

The client is a West London construction and main‑contracting firm expanding its structural steel capabilities. They need an Operations & Project Delivery Manager to lead the steel fabrication workshop, ensuring projects are produced to specification and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the steel fabrication workshop.
• Supervise a team of 8‑10 welders, fabricators and operatives.
• Coordinate production schedules to meet project deadlines.
• Review and interpret fabrication drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Monitor quality, health & safety compliance and equipment maintenance.
• Control labour allocation, material usage and procurement, negotiating with suppliers.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, procurement and site teams to resolve issues.
• Support staff training, performance management and development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in structural steel or steel fabrication.
• Previous management or supervisory role within a workshop environment.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, welding and structural steelwork.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
• Commercial awareness and strong health & safety knowledge.
