Optical Assistant – Customer Care & Eye Care Support

About the role

We are looking for a caring, hard-working individual to join our busy Horsham store as an Optical Assistant. You will welcome customers, support opticians and technicians, and help deliver a range of eye-care services.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers throughout their visit.
• Support opticians during eye examinations, contact lens fittings and after-care.
• Maintain and clean optical equipment, including OCT scanners.
• Handle appointment scheduling and administrative tasks.
• Provide information on hearing services when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an optical or fast-paced customer service environment.
• Passionate about delivering excellent eye-care service.
• Basic knowledge of optical and audiology terminology.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work a 7-day rota.

Required skills

• Knowledge of optical terminology.
• Experience with contact lens fitting.
