Optical Assistant – Friendly Customer‑Facing Role

About the role

As an Optical Assistant at Specsavers you will be the friendly face of the store, using your passion for the brand and strong customer‑service skills to create a welcoming environment for both shoppers and colleagues. The role is ideal for proactive people‑persons who enjoy helping customers with their eye‑care needs in a fast‑paced retail setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent, personalised service to customers throughout their visit.
• Assist with dispensing glasses and lenses, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Use store IT systems to process orders, manage appointments and maintain records.
• Support the store team in daily operations and maintain a tidy, professional environment.
• Stay up‑to‑date with Specsavers products, services and promotions.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Optical Advisor or Dispensing Assistant.
• Passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
• Strong teamwork attitude and willingness to take initiative.
• Confidence using IT systems and handling customer enquiries.
• Excellent communication and listening skills, with openness to feedback and development.

What we offer

• Salary up to £28,000 per year, dependent on experience.
