Optical Assistant – Full/Part Time in Witham

About the role
Join a friendly independent optical practice in Witham, Essex, as an Optical Assistant. Whether you prefer full‑time or part‑time hours, you will help deliver a seamless, high‑quality patient experience in a supportive environment where customer care is paramount.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome patients and provide exceptional customer service.
- Carry out pre‑screening eye health checks.
- Hand over patients smoothly to the optometrist.
- Dispense spectacles, advise on lens options and assist with frame selection.
- Manage collections, after‑care appointments and follow‑up communications.
- Fit, adjust and repair spectacles.
- Provide contact‑lens teaching and support.
- Complete administrative tasks accurately and maintain high standards of care.
Required profile
- Previous experience working in an optical practice.
- Excellent communication and customer‑service abilities.
- Professional, positive attitude with strong attention to detail.
- Organisational skills and a genuine passion for helping customers.
