Optical Assistant – Retail Vision Care

About the role

Join the Specsavers team in Yeovil as an Optical Assistant, supporting customers with contact lens choices, fittings and ongoing care. You will work in a busy retail environment, helping clients feel confident with their vision solutions while developing your optical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and advise customers entering the store.
• Assist with contact lens selection, fitting, and after‑care instructions.
• Maintain accurate customer records and update lens prescriptions.
• Support Opticians and Technicians with routine tasks and stock management.
• Ensure the optical area remains clean, organized, and compliant with health‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an optical or retail setting.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and a caring attitude.
• Ability to work confidently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and develop further optical skills.
