Optometrist – up to £65k, 4‑day week

About the role

Specsavers is seeking a forward‑thinking Optometrist to join its newly opened Hempstead Valley store. The role offers a competitive salary up to £65,000, a 4‑day working week and the chance to work with state‑of‑the‑art clinical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations for NHS and private patients.
• Utilise advanced imaging and diagnostic tools such as OCT, phoropter, tonometer and visual field screener.
• Participate in local NHS schemes including MECS, MECS 2, Repeat IOP, Post‑Op Cataract assessments, Hydroxychloroquine screening and ARMD monitoring.
• Contribute to enhanced optical services, pre‑registration supervision and clinical research initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
• Newly qualified or experienced optometrist willing to work a 4‑day week with one Sunday every five weeks.
• Commitment to professional development and clinical excellence.

Required skills

• Nidek Retina DUO II OCT (including FAF for HCG scheme).
• Frost automatic Phoropter.
• Nidek Tonoref III.
• Henson 9000 visual field screener.
