About the role
Specsavers Ashford is seeking a qualified Optometrist to join a community‑focused team. The role offers the chance to deliver high‑quality eye care while enjoying flexible hours, professional development and a supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and provide accurate prescriptions.
- Diagnose and manage conditions such as retinal disease, glaucoma and other ocular health issues.
- Collaborate with colleagues on clinical development projects and CPD activities.
- Maintain patient records in line with GOC standards and ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
- Participate in the use and upkeep of the latest clinical technology and equipment.
Required profile
- Qualified and GOC‑registered Optometrist.
- Patient‑focused with strong communication skills.
- Team player who encourages and supports colleagues.
- Motivated to balance professional growth with personal wellbeing.
- Eligibility for Tier 2 sponsorship if required.
Required skills
- GOC registration.
- Experience or training in Medical Retina and Glaucoma assessments.
- Familiarity with IP (Independent Prescribing) qualifications.
- Leadership development through ILM qualifications (desired).
What we offer
- Salary up to £70,000 per year, dependent on experience and accreditations.
- Performance bonus up to £10,000.
- Flexible full‑time or part‑time contracts (one weekend day).
