Optometry Partner – Home Visits (Plymouth)

About the role

Specsavers is expanding its home‑visit optometry service in Plymouth and is looking for an experienced optometrist to join as a Partner. You will co‑lead a domiciliary business that brings eye‑care directly to patients in their homes across North Devon and the Cornish coastline.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow the home‑visit optometry practice in the designated territory.
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, prescribe corrective lenses and provide clinical advice.
• Oversee a team of admin assistants, schedulers and optical staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Develop schedules, route planning and patient outreach to maximise coverage of Bude, Newquay, Oakhampton, Plymouth and the lower Cornish coast.
• Maintain high standards of clinical quality, health‑and‑safety and customer service.
• Collaborate with the existing partner and corporate support functions for business development.

Required profile

• Qualified optometrist registered with the General Optical Council.
• Proven experience in community, retail or home‑visit eye care.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to own and grow a business.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on the road.

Required skills

• Clinical optometry examinations and dispensing.
• Use of modern optometric equipment and software.
