About the role
Join Ramsay Health Care’s theatre department in Andover as an Orthopaedic or Spinal Scrub Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner. You will work in state‑of‑the‑art operating theatres, supporting orthopaedic and spinal procedures and contributing to high‑quality patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Provide scrub assistance for orthopaedic surgeries such as hip and knee arthroplasty and ACL reconstruction.
- Assist in spinal procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and proper instrument handling.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre staff to maintain patient safety.
- Prepare and manage surgical equipment and consumables before and during operations.
- Document procedures and maintain compliance with NHS and hospital protocols.
Required profile
- Current NMC or HCPC registration.
- Proven surgical scrub experience in orthopaedics (hip, knee, ACL).
- Desirable: Surgical First Assist (SFA) qualification.
- Desirable: Experience in spinal scrub or anaesthetic assistance.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexible, positive attitude with a warm, empathetic character.
