OT Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an OT Cyber Security Engineer to join our Cyber Security Team and protect the United Kingdom’s critical national infrastructure. You will monitor, assess and secure Drax’s operational technology environments, including industrial control, SCADA and distributed control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor and enhance OT security monitoring capabilities across the OT environment.
• Analyse threats and vulnerabilities, assess impact and prioritize response actions.
• Contribute to the design, implementation and improvement of OT security architecture.
• Conduct security assessments and facilitate penetration testing of OT systems.
• Provide SME support for compliance programmes aligned with IEC 62443, NIS CAF, OG86 and HSE regulations.
• Travel to FlexGen assets across the UK up to 30% of the time.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of Operational Technology environments, including ICS, SCADA and plant networks.
• Awareness of operational safety considerations when applying cyber controls in live environments.
• Experience deploying and supporting cyber‑security tooling in OT contexts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and operations teams.
