Outreach SEN Tutor – One-to-One Specialist Support

About the role

You will deliver personalised one‑to‑one tuition to children and young people in Brighton and surrounding areas who need specialist educational support. The role offers flexible hours, ongoing long‑term placements and the chance to make a real difference in learners’ lives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging 1:1 lessons tailored to each learner’s needs.
• Monitor, record and report progress against individual learning plans.
• Build positive relationships with students, families and the wider support team.
• Adapt teaching strategies to maximise engagement and confidence.
• Support learners in achieving their educational goals and EHCP outcomes.

Required profile

• At least 2 years’ experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Strong knowledge of a range of SEND needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH, speech & language).
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Background as a SEN Tutor, Qualified Teacher (QTS/PGCE), SENCO, Outreach Tutor or other SEND professional.
