Outreach Tutor – 1:1 Support for Young Learners

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for enthusiastic Outreach Tutors to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people across Sefton. You will work with learners who are out of education, awaiting school placements, or needing extra support to re‑engage with learning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one academic tuition tailored to each learner’s needs.
• Support the development of confidence, resilience and independence.
• Assist learners who are disengaged, awaiting placement or have special educational needs.
• Maintain a safe, supportive learning environment and manage behaviour effectively.

Required profile

• Experience teaching or tutoring young people.
• Experience with SEND, SEMH or disengaged learners is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and behaviour‑management skills.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent preferred.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional child‑related references.

Required skills

What we offer

• Flexible part‑time hours (5‑15 hrs per week).
• Competitive hourly rate of £25‑£30.
• Ongoing, permanent placement starting September 2026.
