Outreach Tutor

About the role

Academics is seeking enthusiastic Outreach Tutors to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who are currently out of school. You will work in the child’s home or local community, helping them rebuild confidence, develop essential skills and re‑engage with education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 tutoring for SEN pupils awaiting placement or in alternative education.
• Adapt lessons to meet each child’s individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
• Build confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Maintain flexible working hours that suit your availability.
• Collaborate with families and consultants to monitor progress.

Required profile

• Experience working with children with SEN (e.g., Autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety).
• Patience, resilience and a passion for helping every child succeed.
• Ability to create engaging, personalised lessons.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with pupils and families.
• QTS, tutoring experience, HLTA status or relevant education background (desirable).
