Outreach Tutor – Part‑time (5‑15 hrs/week)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking an Outreach Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for students in the St Helens area. The role is part‑time, flexible and aims to boost confidence, close learning gaps and support learners who have missed education or face anxiety.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised 1:1 lessons tailored to each pupil’s ability and needs.
• Identify and address gaps in knowledge, adapting resources for learners with SEND or other barriers.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and outcomes.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about student progress.
• Participate in occasional training sessions provided by Prospero Teaching.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable).
• Previous experience teaching or tutoring in the UK, especially with disengaged or SEND students.
• Creative, patient and flexible approach to lesson delivery.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS with Update Service.
• Two professional references related to work with children or young people.

Required skills

• Teaching experience.
