Outsourcing Supervisor – Accounting Team Lead

About the role

The Outsourcing Supervisor will lead the Outsourcing team of a well‑established chartered accountancy firm in Reading. Reporting directly to the Partners, you will ensure high‑quality bookkeeping, VAT, and management account services for corporate and owner‑managed clients.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and allocate workload for the Outsourcing team to meet client expectations and deadlines.
• Train junior staff on bookkeeping, monthly management accounts, and software usage.
• Manage workflow, produce reports, and liaise with the Accounts managers for year‑end statutory packs.
• Resolve client bookkeeping and VAT queries promptly.
• Prepare quarterly and monthly management accounts for complex engagements.
• Deliver Xero training to new and existing clients.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of VAT for small businesses and ability to meet tight deadlines.
