Overhead Crane Service Engineer (Electrical Bias)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Service Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join our specialist engineering team across the South East. The role involves maintaining, fault‑finding and upgrading overhead and gantry cranes in demanding industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Service and maintain overhead and gantry cranes
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding on 3‑phase systems
• Repair motors, controls, brakes and safety systems
• Work on pendant and radio control systems
• Install and commission crane equipment and upgrades
• Carry out LOLER inspections and safety checks
• Respond to breakdowns across multiple industrial sites
• Complete accurate service reports

Required profile

• Proven experience as a crane, lifting equipment or industrial electrical engineer
• Strong fault‑finding ability on 3‑phase and control systems
• Good mechanical understanding of industrial equipment
• Ability to work independently in the field
• Full UK driving licence
• Discipline, reliability and attention to detail
• Ex‑military candidates are welcomed

• Salary £40,000‑£50,000 per year plus OTE up to £70,000
