Overhead Lines Instructor – Training Role

About the role

This position is designed for an experienced overhead linesperson who wants to transition from field work to delivering high‑quality training for the energy sector. You will join a fast‑growing engineering training provider that uses state‑of‑the‑art facilities to teach the next generation of electrical engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver practical and theoretical training on electricity distribution and transmission systems.
• Assess learner competence against national occupational and qualification standards.
• Teach overhead line construction and maintenance modules with a focus on distribution networks.
• Support the delivery of technical certificates in Power Engineering.
• Provide compliance and safety‑related training aligned with real‑world distribution activities.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of training programmes using modern equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years’ experience as an Overhead Linesperson, Linesman or Lineswoman.
• Strong background working on wooden pole distribution networks.
• Current or previous authorisations for overhead line work.
• Solid knowledge of electricity distribution systems; transmission competency is a plus.
