Packaging Development Manager

About the role

The Packaging Development Manager will lead the technical packaging function at KP Snacks' Billingham site, supporting both new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, R&D, Marketing and Project teams to deliver safe, high‑quality, and sustainable packaging solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the site‑wide packaging expert, providing day‑to‑day production support and troubleshooting.
• Design, develop and optimise packaging for new products, product renovations and cost‑saving projects.
• Lead factory trials, production support activities and on‑site problem solving.
• Coach and develop colleagues to build packaging capability across the site.
• Promote a “Right First Time” culture and contribute to sustainability targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in packaging development within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate technical data into practical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Ability to work hands‑on in a fast‑paced production setting.
