Painter/Decorator

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Painter/Decorator to join Raven Housing Trust’s Repairs team, delivering high‑quality repairs across residential properties in the South East. You will work from a home base within the operating area, travelling to sites from Croydon to Brighton to complete interior and exterior decoration projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and treat surfaces for painting, both internally and externally, ensuring a high‑quality finish.
• Communicate clearly with residents, keeping them informed throughout each job to deliver a positive customer experience.
• Follow health and safety regulations, including COSHH and manual handling procedures, and use risk assessments on every site.
• Use mobile technology to receive job details, record work completed and maintain accurate records.
• Inspect properties, identify repair needs such as damp or mould, and select the most effective solution to minimise repeat visits.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in Painting & Decorating (C&G Level 2, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a customer‑focused environment.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Ability to follow manufacturer guidance and health‑safety procedures.

Required skills

• Painting & Decorating techniques for interior and exterior surfaces.
• Use of mobile job‑management applications.
• Implementation of health‑and‑safety standards (COSHH, manual handling).
