Panel Technician

About the role

SMART Bodyshop Solutions is expanding its team in Reading and is looking for an experienced Panel Technician. You will work on both commercial and passenger vehicles, repairing or replacing damaged body panels to restore vehicles to a road‑worthy condition.

Key responsibilities

• Repair or replace structural and non‑structural body panels, chassis and vehicle framework on a variety of vehicles.
• Operate pulling benches, welding equipment and other tools in line with health and safety standards.
• Follow approved repair methods and document any additional damage discovered.
• Maintain high quality workmanship, attention to detail and a "right first time" approach.
• Uphold housekeeping, health and safety policies and assist the Site Manager with reasonable tasks.

Required profile

• Previous bodyshop experience is essential.
• Familiarity with commercial vehicle repairs is advantageous.
• IMI ATA/L3 qualification is desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided.
