Paralegal/NQ Private Client – Excellent Rewards & Prospects

About the role

We are partnering with a large, agile, long‑established law firm in Colchester to recruit a newly‑qualified (NQ) Private Client Paralegal. The position offers a clear progression route towards partnership and includes extensive training and specialist courses to develop your legal expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Support fee‑earners on all private client matters, including wills, lasting powers of attorney and probate.
• Prepare and review wills ranging from basic to highly complex.
• Draft and manage lasting powers of attorney documentation.
• Assist with probate files and related client communications.
• Conduct legal research and maintain accurate case files.
• Liaise with clients, external advisers and court officials as required.

Required profile

• Newly‑qualified (NQ) or recently qualified paralegal with a law degree or equivalent.
• Strong interest in private client work and a commitment to professional development.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle complex legal documents.
• Effective communication skills and a client‑focused approach.

Required skills

• Knowledge of wills, probate and lasting powers of attorney law.
• Proficiency in legal drafting and document preparation.
• Familiarity with standard office software such as Microsoft Word.
• Basic case‑management abilities.
