Paraplanner – Financial Planning Role in London

About the role

We are partnering with a boutique Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) in the City of London to recruit an experienced Paraplanner. You will support high‑net‑worth clients, many of whom are legal professionals, delivering comprehensive financial planning and complex tax and trust solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare documentation and suitability reports for client review meetings, covering pensions, fund switches, bond assignments and protection products.
• Attend and minute client and prospect meetings, ensuring accurate records of discussions and decisions.
• Produce full planning reports for new clients using proprietary investment modelling to illustrate real‑after‑inflation spending outcomes.
• Liaise with the Investment Team to adjust client plans and communicate any changes affecting investment strategy.
• Gradually take ownership of a portfolio of clients and progress towards an advisory role.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Paraplanner within a wealth‑management or IFA environment.
• Strong understanding of complex tax, trust and pension planning for high‑net‑worth individuals.
• Ability to produce clear, compliant suitability and planning reports.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Financial planning documentation and report writing.
• Knowledge of pension schemes, fund switches, bond assignments and protection products.
• Familiarity with investment modelling and risk‑adjusted outcome analysis.
