Paraplanner – Financial Planning Specialist

About the role

Join a respected independent financial planning firm in Glasgow city centre, where technical quality and client care are prioritised over sales targets. As a Paraplanner you will work closely with experienced advisers to produce bespoke recommendations and support high‑quality financial planning advice.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare suitability reports and recommendation letters covering pensions, investments, protection, trusts and estate planning.
• Conduct technical research to underpin client recommendations and financial strategies.
• Collaborate with advisers to deliver tailored financial planning solutions.
• Support ongoing client review work and servicing requirements.
• Produce and maintain detailed spreadsheets, calculations and client planning documentation.
• Maintain accurate client records and workflow documentation.
• Liaise with product providers to obtain information required for advice recommendations.
• Ensure all work complies with regulatory and compliance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Paraplanner within a financial planning or wealth management environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of pensions and investments.
• Confidence in producing high‑quality suitability reports.
• Excellent written communication and report‑writing abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills, including creation and manipulation of complex spreadsheets.
