Paraplanner (Junior) – Edinburgh Hybrid Role

About the role

We are seeking a Paraplanner (Junior) to join our award‑winning independent financial planning firm in Edinburgh. Working alongside experienced Financial Planners, you will support high‑net‑worth clients throughout the advice process, conducting research and preparing technical documentation. The role offers hybrid working with three days in the office and two days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical research across pensions, investments and protection.
• Prepare suitability reports and recommendation letters.
• Produce illustrations, cashflow models and supporting documentation.
• Assist with annual reviews, valuations and client review packs.
• Support implementation of recommendations and ensure accurate compliance documentation.
• Maintain client records and workflows using the firm’s CRM system.
• Liaise with clients, providers and colleagues to ensure a smooth advice process.
• Attend client meetings to provide technical support and take notes.

Required profile

• Experience within an IFA or financial planning environment.
• Approximately two years supporting Financial Planners or working in paraplanning/technical administration.
• Experience preparing suitability reports or conducting technical research (advantageous).
• Progress towards or completion of Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a genuine interest in developing technical knowledge.
