Parcel Delivery Driver – Part‑time (12‑month contract)

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Parcel Delivery Driver in Newton Abbot. You will work on a rotating shift schedule, delivering letters and parcels to local customers by van and on foot. The role offers a mix of outdoor activity and community interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot across your local area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent the Royal Mail brand.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Handle a variety of items such as exam results, birthday cards, business orders and other important deliveries.

Required profile

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit to walk up to 12 miles per shift, climb stairs or hills, and lift/carry mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy, time‑pressured environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.
