Part Qualified Accountant

About the role

Our client, a global financial markets trading firm, is seeking a Part Qualified Accountant to join their finance team in London. This junior role offers exposure to a wide range of accounting activities and the chance to develop expertise in a fast‑moving trading environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Assist with cost analysis and respond to internal queries.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns and statistical reports as required.
• Act as liaison with banks and external partners, handling day‑to‑day matters.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Process and maintain ledger entries in SAP Business ByDesign and other ERP systems.
• Provide general finance support, including tax return preparation and compliance.
• Contribute to new business projects, process‑improvement initiatives and system enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, finance or accounting.
• Part‑qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or similar) with 1‑2 years post‑graduation accounting experience, preferably audit.
• Proactive, reliable, detail‑oriented and able to work independently.
• Strong initiative and willingness to ask questions while building confidence.

Required skills

• Familiarity with SAP Business ByDesign (preferred).
• Experience with SAP Concur or similar ERP tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard Office applications.
