Part-Time 1:1 Tutor (Harlow)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking part‑time 1:1 tutors to work with children in care, pupils with special educational needs and excluded learners across Harlow and nearby areas. You will support students aged 5‑16, delivering focused English and Maths sessions either in the child’s home or at a local library.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions, typically up to 3 hours per day, five days a week, with flexibility based on individual needs.
• Adapt teaching methods for disengaged learners, addressing behavioural and SEN challenges.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction to help students work towards age‑related expectations.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and learning outcomes.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one) registered with the online update service.
• Two professional child‑related references covering the last two years.
• Availability to start as soon as possible and work flexible part‑time hours, Monday‑Friday.
