Part-Time Academic – Development and Activism (Fall 2026)

About the role

Dalhousie University seeks a part‑time academic to teach INTD 3003.03, “Development and Activism,” during the fall term of the 2026‑27 academic year. The appointment runs from September 1 to December 31, 2026, and involves full responsibility for course delivery, assessment and administration.

Key responsibilities

• Teach INTD 3003.03 (Development and Activism) during the fall term (Sept‑Dec 2026).
• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and project‑based activities that centre on collective activist initiatives.
• Grade assignments, exams and project work, and maintain accurate course records.
• Provide two hours per week of student consultation outside scheduled class time.
• Administer the course, including syllabus updates and coordination with the IDS Department Chair.

Required profile

• PhD in International Development Studies or a closely related discipline.
• Research, practical, and teaching expertise related to activism, with experience in activist organizing in Halifax.
• Prior university‑level teaching experience.
