About the role
The Department of History at Dalhousie University seeks a part‑time academic to teach HIST 2335.03 Modern American Culture during the Fall 2026 term (September 1 – December 31). Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:35 am to 12:55 pm on campus.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lectures and facilitate discussions for HIST 2335.03.
- Prepare course materials, assignments, and assessments.
- Grade student work and maintain accurate records.
- Provide two hours of weekly office‑hour consultation outside class time.
- Handle administrative duties related to the course.
- Report to the Chair of the History Department.
Required profile
- PhD in History or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience teaching U.S. history with emphasis on gender, sexuality, or race is strongly preferred.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- Canadian citizens or permanent residents receive priority consideration.
